This course provides a practical introduction to neurodiversity-affirming practice, designed specifically for occupational therapists. You’ll explore the shift from deficit-based models to strengths-based, inclusive approaches that honour neurological differences and support authenticity, autonomy, and participation. Learn how to apply the 6 A’s framework, developed by Claire Britton, and gain foundational skills to support neurodivergent clients in a way that is respectful, relevant, and empowering.

Claire Britton

Claire is a neurodivergent occupational therapist, speaker, and advocate, with nearly a decade of experience supporting neurodivergent individuals in their daily lives. She is the founder of Neuroinclusion, a Perth-based OT practice that provides neurodivergent-led therapy, professional development, and mentoring to OTs across Australia. Claire is passionate about challenging ableist therapy models and empowering OTs to take a strengths-based, affirming approach in their practice.

She has presented at the 2024 National Occupational Therapy Conference and has been featured on podcasts such as ADHD Mums, where she shares insights on neurodiversity, advocacy, and inclusive therapy approaches. Through this course, Claire brings her lived experience and professional expertise to help occupational therapists better understand how to support neurodivergent individuals in a meaningful, affirming way.
